Step 1: Exploring Membership Class
Attend our Exploring Membership Classes to learn about our church's history, mission, beliefs, and expectations. This is a great time for you to ask any of those burning questions you have before committing to membership. Please note that attendance of these classes does not obligate you to join our church, but we hope that after the classes you will take this next step in your walk of faith. Class sessions and times can vary so please check the church bulletin or request more information by emailing the office.
Step 2: Meet with the Pastor
It's important for the pastor to get to know those who are personally under his care. It's also important for members to know their pastor. This meeting gives additional opportunity to explore any personal questions you might have that may not have been appropriate in a larger group setting.
Step 3: Baptism
FBC Glendora practices believer baptism. If you have not yet been baptized by emersion it will be necessary to follow up in obedience to Christ in order to meet the requirements for membership.
Step 4: Affirmation of Membership
Congratulations! Steps 1 through 3 have been completed. At this time the pastor will present the individual for membership before the church during a business meeting. Following affirmation of membership, the individual will be presented before the whole congregation at the following Sunday morning service.
What about transfer of membership?
If you are coming from a like-minded or sister church, please mention this during the meeting with the pastor. We will then follow up with your previous church to provide continuity of pastoral care.
